UR deputy title might be a protection against criminal prosecution by the police or IRS.
But it’s not a protection against criminal attacks of any kind. It might me some of his employees he fired. It sounds like this – “hit the politician over the head. After the deputy fell to the ground unconscious, the villain started stabbing him with a knife”

I find it interesting, when criticism raised by Russian liberal opposition starts to be used by Western ppl as a true source of information.

It’s like if the republican party dominated in the states, and then people across the world would start to entirely trust the repressed democrats.

And that’s precisely why you won’t hear about it in the Western press. People get murdered for financial/business reasons all the time. It horrific, to be sure. But the implications are nowhere near as broad and scary for society than if the murder was due to political reasons.

When someone gets murdered for reporting or speaking their views, it has a silencing effect on the population and takes away a fundamental freedom. Murders of the nature described in this post have a horrible effect on the economy, but they don’t reek of totalitarianism.
