I can’t say it’s insignificant piece of the story — because ignoring the torture imposed on a person to make him speak something, means justification of that torture.

In the whole normal world, statements made under torture aren’t valid. I hope you won’t argue?

Kuznetsov’s story wan’t your major point, of course, but I think it must be clear, any way.

They’re not being asked to provide proof of their humanity. They’re being asked to provide proof that they are who they say they are, and not, for example, a criminal.
