G.D. Litvinenko. From beyond the grave, how does he manage to garner fresh ink. He's like Waldo in the "Where's Waldo" books; he's always going to be there if you look hard enough. If you want to brew a scandal, you just throw in a dose of ingredient 'L', and you've spiced it up with BAB,and Lord Bell, the Labor Party and the Hollywood chorus, directed by The Grieving Widow.

And it has to happen in Peters, because nothing says 'Putin is corrupt' better than a scandal in Peter's law enforcement hierarchy.

Of course, it's not hard to believe that there's a rich "Peter's Confidential" story at this particular onion's core. (ref: LA Confidential movie for those not familiar with this high mark in 'the cops as ultimate bad guys' movies-- and the top cop is the worst and the press is constantly fomenting all the bad stuff.) I just think that if the the Ingredient 'L' faction sees an opportunity to stir up a press tempest over this, they're going to do it.

I wonder what sort of movie David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks) would make based on this...I like the evil little power-broker character in Mulholland Drive that sat behind the Diner's garbage bin spinning dice to determine which cast member would play in which role in the next scene. Who would be the star? who would be the striver?; who would be the good guy? who would be the bad guy?

"Rebellion" may be a lousy film spreading false innuendo. I have not seen "Rebellion", but I know are plenty of so-called documentaries films that fit such description. Nonetheless, it would be outrageous if that's the reason Memorial was raided.

You may well be right in your hunch that "the whole thing was a serious f-up on the part of the St. Petersburg’s keystones." Perhaps we will find out the real reason behind the raid, or perhaps not.
