W. Shedd gave me a talking-down when I suggested that our economic crisis might impact US military ambitions in Georgia a few weeks ago. But, I stand by my position. Still I'm suspicious that Biden has taken money from Georgia and he'll need to reciprecate...maybe not as much as McCain, though. Yet, the pro-Georgia U.S. PR battle looks to be going the other way. See today's Christian Science Monitor:

I feared that even the pious United States might one day turn its back on the magic space ponies, and now that dread day has come.

The bill is marked as "referred to the committee.

desperately trying to plug the capitalist bleed

It's a bleed alright, but it is a government created crisis peddled by quasi government Freddie and Fannie in bed with Dodds, Franks and Obamas.

Whenever government tries to meddle with markets for ideological reasons (even genuinely altruistic, for the sake of giving it benefit of a doubt it rarely deserves) and on such a drastic scale society pays. Unfortunately US is not immune from the stepping on the same rake syndrome.

That is truly bizarre. I don't see any record of it passing either chamber either. Call you reps and ask them how they voted on it. That should answer your question.
