At least there is one good thing about it. Maybe – maybe – few kids in Russia would start to think that better to be a football player than a banker or a gangster?

Its amazing, a lot of Russians put down the lack of success in recent years to the fact that they reckoned the players were only interested in money. I’ve always struggled to believe that one. I know a lot of players (Nicholas Anelka for example) are only after the cash. I think years of poor performances by Russian teams probably weighed heavily on a lot of the players, but these young guys have clearly shrugged it all off. Are you enjoying the whole thing Ivanov?

Indeed Blair. Unless I’m mistaken you’re married to a Russkaya -so am I. Has your wife got into yet? The moan factor has certainly went down a notch or two lately, long may it last! Its great to see them doing well. Of course I’d rather Ireland and Scotland were there instead though!:-)
