Actually, Kasparov is demanding Nashi provide proof of his U.S. citizenship. He says he has no U.S. passport. A zapros has been sent to the U.S. Consulate in Moscow. He's also demanding they distribute an equal number of leaflets recanting the disinformation about his supposed U.S. passport.

His wife has U.S. citizenship, but as far as I know, he does not.

Good grief its impossible for a Russian to get fair play in the courts, never mind an Armenian with a US passport. Is he into self-flagellation or something?

That Ryanair ad with Sarko and Carla was priceless, and the publicity alone will pay for whatever costs they incur. I hate that airline but they've got some funny ads.

My word, he's up there with the most dense metals on the periodic table.

If your are going to sue for your 'honor', then use the most rotten legal process available in the western hemisphere, the libel courts in the United Kingdom. Apparently statistics show that liklihood of a ruling in favor of the bringer of the case is about two thirds. Even the frogs don't stoop to that level (Sarko et Carla, 1 euro and 60K euro awarded).

Does *anyone* know a suicidal judge with no children, in Russia, willing to back up the attack-Putin litigation of an *Armenian ‘Jew’* (sic)?

I'd hazard a guess that this is rather the point of the exercise. If nobody can be found to represent Kasparov, much will be made of this fact in the US press, spun any which way you please.

Did any of you ever see Bug? I caught it the other night -- great film. Kasparov reminds me of the male lead, who starts out seeming likeable and normal, and then... well I don't want to spoil the movie.

Anyone who’s read a paper or watched the BBC in the last year or so can join.

Right on! I was looking for a way to spin this to my personal advantage. A plague on the Nashi house! Show ME the money!

Kasparov should end his official court filing with: "And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those meddling kids!"
