Who cares if you read Russian? Your comments are ludicrous regardless of whatever language you arrived at them in.

I don’t see any “ravings” in the comments, but, then,…”farce”…” peddling”…”all hell breaks loose”… are your descriptive terms which could be construed as, well, emotional.

Oh, and, “alleged poisoning”, so just what was the cause of Litvinenko’s death in your universe?

Also, more then one person can exercise the anonymous option when posting, so, I’m only responding as half of the anonymous posts.

I’m sorry, but how can your ravings about the quality of the Russian media be taken seriously, if you can’t even read Russian? Don’t you think that the only people whose opinion on this topic matters are those who actually read Russian newspapers and watch Russian news? Like me, for example?

Your hysteria is especially ironic in light of the fact that the Russian media (i.e. Gazprom’s Ekho Moskvy) reported Litvinenko’s alleged poisoning much earlier than it made the news even in London.

Well, sometimes it is that easy. No conspiracy theories, mysterious Western/Chechnyan organizations. Just plain, simple truth- the critics must be silenced.

Take a good look at the social and ownership-structure oriented processes in the new Russia. First, the politically-motivated arrests of Gasprom owners, resulting in company’s takeover (by a goverment, of course). Then, assasinations of journalists, followed by threats to others. If we add to this the knowledge of the organized groups hostile towards the critics of the goverment (http://www.mosnews.com/news/2006/10/12/calltokill.shtml) we all get the right picture. Current goverment is Russia’s most criminal organization.

Litvinenko met with both. First with Andrei Lugovoy, another KGB defector and Berezovsky’s man, then with Scaramella at the sushi place. Scaramella himself was an anti-Soviet propagandist, peddling the story of USSR covertly planting nuclear mines near Naples. Interestingly enough, both Lugovoy and Scaramella have disappeared.

Now this is a real farce. Russian media reported Litvinenko’s poisoning three weeks ago, followed by a statement from the Scotland Yard that they know nothing about it. And all hell breaks loose only now, with accusations that Putin must’ve personally poisoned Litvinenko?
